At least 11 people were killed and 12 others injured in a fatal crash along the Dakingari–Kamba road in Kebbi State on Sunday night.
Security sources said the accident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on 27 April at Bakin Dutse. A Mitsubishi Canter driven by Sanusi Aliyu of Kamba was conveying goods and passengers from Aljannare market to Kamba when it swerved to avoid a pothole.
Several passengers fell off the vehicle and were run over by an oncoming trailer. The trailer’s registration number and driver remain unidentified.
Nura Nuhu, 25, of Sokoto State, and 10 others died on the spot. Twelve persons, including Aliyu Suleman, 45, sustained serious injuries.
The injured were rushed to General Hospital, Kamba, for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
